** random acts of kindness by strangers
** lightning at night, sometimes a ferocious rain storm and all muggy and hot during the day
** random bits of entertainment from the church choir to the "drum and scratch" band that practiced twice daily
** Peter is out neighbor!
** amazing sunsets and sunrises
** I got to fire dance!
** copious amounts of alcohol just to stay hydrated and happy
** people on the streets saying hi to you
** a boat was the main mode of transportation...that and walking;)
